TUSAL First of 2013 and a RAK!

I admit I did not remember because I fell off the tusal thing mid year last year, and wasn't even thinking about it this early. Three of my grandchildren made my calendar for the year and they forgot all about the moons :)
I've been doing a lot of joining of stitch-a-longs, drooling over everyone else's choices, gathering up supplies and very little stitching as this picture will confirm, but do have big plans for the year as well as plans for a new ort jar. Please note in the sidebar, a TUSAL link for anybody who doesn't know what this craziness is all about.

I am not going to show all my piddly little starts right now but want to honor my sal's with a picture of progress at least at the end of every month...yep, I said month. And that is beside all the ones rolled over from last year.
Last year was not a good year mentally, medically, physically or spiritually, but putting that all behind and moving on will be an exciting adventure. Don't you agree?
This other picture Is of a needlebook made by my friend Patti, not exactly a gift, but stitched by her none-the-less. Her stitching and finishing is perfection.
So, where is the RAK? that would be the chart you see in this picture. A surprise from Romilly who is a part of one of the fb groups I joined. Thank you so much, Romilly for the totally unexpected prize in my mailbox!!

I have decided I like RAK's and I'm going to be sending some of my own. Grandma's slow but she's old and she always does catch up eventually.

I'm so LATE!

I am planning and praying that I won't take my blogging friends for granted next year, and I've joined enough sal's to accommodate the things I've been wanting to stitch instead of things someone else picked for me. (Got some of those too  going on, but my goal is to finish something besides three ornaments this year.)

Anyway, just want to wish all of you out there, along with your families.....

I feel so good these days!

I joined a stitchalong...that would be another stitchalong and I'm excited about it. Anyone who is kind enough to be a blogging friend to me knows that I've very little stitching, especially this year. With a chronic illness like mine other physical problems can become chaos if you allow them to. That's what I did, but things are back on track now and on the way to being so much better. I don't like to talk about health and so that's enough about that.
I started Scarlet Letter's Jane Atkinson in February of 2011. I thought she was the prettiest sampler I'd ever seen. Well, this is what she looks like almost two years later...

Then I learned about Nicola who is celebrating her birthday 'year' with a Scarlet Letter stitchalong.  If this isn't enough motivation for me, whatever could be? Helping Nicola get this blog off and going is Jo.  and I think you're invited :)

Some of you may have checked in on my book blog and thought "she's worse with book blogs than stitching blogs"...you'd be right, lol.

I did finally post a short one to get started again so you can check it out if you want. If you never checked out my first post, please do. That one is a book I'll always be glad someone kept at me long enough to make me  read it.
I have no followers and sure would like to see some :)

On a windy Sunday afternoon

Just wanted to share with my blog buddies what my exchange gift is from one of my first stitching buddies, Sally.
And, in case some of you were hesitant about stitching this piece, hope you really get an idea how beautiful it is and how sparkly...just look at those spiders. She could not have picked a better one for me but, oh, the work she put into stitching and finishing. JCS halloween ornament book 2012 by Sunflower Seed.
