Herman's official retirement date is February 1st and we're babies at this and learning as we go. I'm so used to him coming and going I'm still in "he's just home for a visit" phase and not doing anything productive. But I'm trying to get there. The lie I can't tell? Would you show these orts for a whole month of stitching?

I've been unable to go through ufo's or decide what to choose to sal along with everyone in the "crazy" things. So rather than get in a hurry like last year, I've been thinking a lot about it and taking my time.
Without saying specifics, I will say that I'd love to finish a few of the beautiful pieces I started last year like "Apple Tree Sampler" by Hawkins House; "Jane Atkinson" by The Scarlet letter; maybe PS ABC piece which I started with many and just fell by the wayside.
New for this year, hence all those many orts, I did start three. This first is a sal with my stitching buddy group.

Also want to do Country Couttage monthly cottages. Don't even have the first one so behind I will be. I know no other way. Someone's got to bring up the rear.

Your new starts are so pretty Babs! I love the shade of red you are using to stitch Quaker Christmas. I stitched Quaker Rose not too long ago - it's on my blog if you want to look for it. I used the called for DMC threads, but I ran out of blue for the initials and used the lightest shade of rose. I love it! Hope you enjoy stitching it as much as I did.
Welll..we can assume you are just a very frugal stitcher and used all but those little orts!

It's not about how much you've done, but how happy it makes you! Oh, Bab's you have such fabulous taste, I do love all your choices, and I even have one or two of them! I'm so glad to hear from you today, after seeing the devastation on TV today. I'm glad you are ok, and have been praying for you and your family since I heard the news today! I'll be praying for those retirement years too, I remember seeing my parents go through that...and they survived *grin*. Enjoy the time together! *Hugs*
oooo congrats to hubby in his retirement ... and commiserations to you heheheh ... you will be fine once you get adjusted to it I am sure .... and the orts prove you have done some stitching so there ...lol and love the Elizabeth Hancock and coooo the Quaker rose is gorgeous ... sorry haven't stitched it .... I am still stitching Jan Cottage so don't panic you're not that far behind ;)

Congrats to the hubby - I'm sure you'll both adjust in no time :) And the orts show that there was stitching that took place - doesn't matter how much! Lovely blue Quaker Rose chart - haven't stitched it though.

My versy best wishes to your DH for his retirement. It will certainly take a while until you will both be accustomned to the new situation. But I'm sure you're enjoying it a lot.
Great pieces that you started for this year. And as someone else said: it's the fun that counts.
I also stitched Quaker Rose in an SAL with Nancy. I changed the turquoise DMC and took a HDF overdyed silk thread instead. It was gorgeous to stitch with it.
